Mutiny!

Did I stay up until midnight on a Monday night to hear this one drop last night? You’re damn right I did. Did I struggle today because of it?! Nah, not a chance. All I had to do was throw this back on, it was like instant energy coming in through my earholes!

In case you have been living under a rock while the members were hyping you up for their surprise announcement as a band and with a killer single to keep you wanting more, we are talking about Mutiny. Who is that, you ask? Oh, just a Ska SUPER group consisting of members of Voodoo Glow Skulls, Dissidente, Death by Stereo, and more. If you are familiar with any of these bands, you expect some punk, maybe some ska-core, but I can almost guarantee you don’t expect what you end up hearing! It’s a SkaPunkMetalHardcore fucking masterpiece. It’s heavy AF, the breakdowns are insane, and the horns are the icing on the cake.

The debut self-titled EP, released by Ska Punk International (SPI), was made to be 4 tracks but ended up being 8 tracks with a brilliant twist! Side A is Mutiny’s version of the 4 tracks (This is a Eulogy, What a Difference a Year Makes, Shot to Hell, and Theseus). On the B side? You are going to hear these in a Japanese version featuring members of Frail, Shinji, and Ryo. It’s hard to pick a favorite track or even a favorite version of any of the tracks. Talk to me in a week or so, maybe. For now, I am just so excited over every single one of these!

You can stream the album now on all streaming platforms and can pick up the vinyl from SPI. First pressing sold out on the pre-order so be quick if you want to grab the second press. You can also see Mutiny live this year at SPI Fest May 17 & 18th in Windsor, CT and/or at Supernova International Ska Festival Sept 13th-15th in Fort Monroe, VA.

I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Mutiny. If this is just the beginning, I’m strapping in!
